the hotel's prime location allowed us to easily explore the surrounding area. the room itself was stunning, exactly what you would expect from a 4, star hotel. It was well laid out, spotlessly clean, and had ample furniture and tasteful decoration. the bathroom was luxurious, complete with a separate toilet. the hotel also had great amenities, including multiple heating and cooling sources, lighting controls, and TVs in both the living room and bedroom. the hotel's restaurant served delicious food, and there was also easy access to a supermarket for when we cooked for ourselves. Cons: Can't think of anything. 😊.

We used this hotel when we went to the Dutch tt at Assen, it has ample free parking which is secluded from the road and it is an easy trip to the tt circuit from the hotels location. The hotel itself is really nice, very clean and comfortable, no problems at all. Our rooms were in the old part of the hotel but even so they were really nice and very well equiped we couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff were helpful and friendly, well organised and accomodated us even though we were early for check-in. The bar area is nice, served a good range of drinks and snacks and the bar staff looked after you really well. All in all I would recommend the Van der Valk Drachten and I would not hesitate to return to the hotel again in the future.
One of the downsides to the hotel was its location to the centre of Drachten, it was a fair walk into the middle of the town, not impossible by any means, just bear that in mind if you are likely to be using your feet. The only other criticism was the price of the breakfast at the hotel, it was quite expensive although it was a breakfast buffet and had a very extensive range, but you really had to make the most of it to feel that you had got anywhere near value for money. Overall these are minor points and shouldn't detract from the good stay that we had at the hotel.

Friendly welcoming staff who knew by name. Very clean. Great food.
On my previous trip I had a beautiful, modern room over the foot bridge, however on this trip I had an older room (109) and although it was clean and tidy it was not as nice as my new room.

rooms& beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is various and tasty, we were very glad to find green feelds to walk with dogs.
the only one thing to improve is to get better connection to internet and it should enter the room price. I would like to have international cable tv.

Nice, clean room at a good price. Very friendly staff welcomed us at the reception desk. Our dogs, an important part of the family, were also warmly welcomed. The green areas by the hotel were clean and well-groomed. The hotel is also situated near-by the main road to Leeuwarden.

I recently stayed at Van Der Valk in Drachten for a weekend getaway. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all of our needs were met. The highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast, which offered a wide variety of options including fresh strawberries, warm and cold dishes, rye bread rolls, pancakes, salmon. The hotel also impressed us with their clean and stylish restaurant and bar, as well as the convenience of free parking right upfront. Additionally, the shower was fantastic and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch. I would love to come back and stay at Van Der Valk in the future.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Clean, and easily reachable
1) The pillows are too high and hard 2) Very early in the morning (5.45am) there was a "bang" noise near my room. This is was NOT good! 3) There were repairs taking place near my room. The doors were open and not good for the fresh air!

Efficient check in process and communication
Very less options for a vegetarian dinner, this may be the only reason I would opt for another hotel during next trip
